01Who we are

Visual Storytelling Institute LLC (“VSI”, “we”, “us”) is based in Miami, Florida, USA, and operates visualstorytell.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, how we use it and the choices you have.

We offer narrative advisory, keynotes, the Visual Storytelling Today podcast and the Visual Storytelling Newsletter. The site has no user accounts, logins or public comments.

02Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Booking a call: your name, email and any notes you add when you schedule through Calendly.
  • Sponsorship and story link requests: your name, email, company, the link you want featured, category, package, preferred month and your note to us.
  • Payments: when you pay for a story link, Stripe collects your payment details. We receive your name, email, the amount and the details you enter at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Emails: anything you send us directly.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics: pages visited, time on page, referring site, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, collected by Google Analytics.
  • Server logs: our host keeps standard logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, date and time) for security and troubleshooting.

03How we use it

  • To reply to you and schedule conversations.
  • To review, deliver and report on sponsorships and story links.
  • To process payments and keep business and tax records.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To protect the site and meet legal obligations.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for third-party advertising. We don’t show ads on this site.

04Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits. It sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) to tell new and returning visitors apart. We use the reports in aggregate, not to identify you.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works fully without cookies.

If you visit from the EU, the UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before setting any analytics cookies. To change your choice, clear this site’s cookies and data in your browser, and we’ll ask again on your next visit.

Embedded videos, podcasts and the booking calendar may set their own cookies (see “Embedded content”).

06Embedded content

Articles and podcast pages may include embedded content such as YouTube videos, podcast players, images and the Calendly booking calendar. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other website. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction, including if you have an account and are logged in there.

07Newsletter

The Visual Storytelling Newsletter is published on Substack at newsletter.visualstorytell.com. When you subscribe, Substack stores your email address and sends the newsletter on our behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.

08Sharing your information

We share personal information only:

  • with the service providers listed above, so they can perform services for us;
  • when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public;
  • if VSI is involved in a merger, sale or similar transaction, in which case we’ll update this policy.

09How long we keep it

  • Requests and emails: for as long as needed to respond and manage our working relationship, then deleted.
  • Payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
  • Analytics data: for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, then automatically deleted.

10Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it, by emailing info@visualstorytell.com. We’ll respond within the time the law requires. Depending on where you live (for example California or another US state with a privacy law, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

11Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and our providers use industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

12International visitors

VSI is based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the US and other countries. By using the site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

13Children’s privacy

This site is meant for business audiences and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

15Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
